Description
Our top-selling fire-rated intumescent-lined, woven glass fabric covers for lights and downlighters. Intumescent Covers for Downlighters create a fire seal to maintain integrity as well as the fire rating of a ceiling. Easily fitted from above or below in plasterboard or suspended ceilings. In the event of a fire, the Fire Hood or Downlight Covers will slow the spread of fire and smoke through the ceiling, giving occupants valuable time to evacuate safely and allowing emergency services to reduce fire damage.
With buildings left unprotected, fire and smoke rapidly spread and destroy rooms and properties.
Installing passive fire products for electrical services provides multiple benefits including:
Compartmentalising fire
Preventing fire spread
Preserving building structures
The intumescent material will expand to create a fire barrier, preventing fires from spreading. This allows occupants to safely evacuate a building and for fire rescue services to extinguish flames before they become severe.
- Tested to BS476 Parts 22, 23 and 23 (Clause 5) (1987), achieving 240minutes integrity.
Our electrical and lighting products meet IET wiring regulations as well as Document B & E of Building Regulations tested to European and British Standards.
